A delicious Rhone style blend.
A Blend of 43% Grenache, 33% Syrah and 24% Mourvedre.
The Grenache is from two different vineyards in Livermore Valley, the Ghielmetti Vineyard (East Hills) approximately 1000 feet in elevation and the Fong Vineyard (Southwest Hills) approximately 650 feet in elevation. The Syrah is from the Ghielmetti Vineyard. The Mourvedre is from the Smith Ranch vineyard which is approximately 400 ft in elevation and located near Sycamore Grove park.
Like a crystal-clear ruby, this wine is stunning. The aromas are a cherry bomb: cherry pie, cherry liqueur, and cherry jam. Hazelnut spread adds a playful note and pipe tobacco reminds you that this is not a children’s beverage. One sip and this wine explodes in your mouth. Again, all cherries with a tobacco toast finish. Perfectly dry with tart acidity and plush tannins make this a wine that will continue to improve for years to come.
3.79 pH Aged in mainly neutral oak barrels with a splash of new French Oak Barrels.
