2015 Cabernet Franc SOLD OUT
Harvested from the Sacchau vineyard, located in the southern hills above Muriettas Well in the Livermore Valley.
Purple glints highlight the garnet color of this wine. There is a juxtaposition in the first aromatic impression: a sweet milk chocolate covering piquant pomegranate. Delve deeper and you get earthy wild flowers and warm baked earth. The palate bursts into your mouth with tart flavors of black current and pomegranate jam. There is also a perception of savory red and black fruits; like red and black plums grilled and sprinkled with salt. Round, moderate tannins are perceived along with a juicy acidity. The finish is reminiscent of summer days eating my mom’s plum fruit leather along with a hint of toast from the oak aging .
Harvested on 9/14/15 and 9/25/15
3.7 pH, TA .58
Aged in mainly French Oak. 73% Cabernet Franc from the Sauchau Vineyard blended with 27% Cabernet Franc from the Ghielmetti Vineyard.
