2013 Cabernet Franc
Harvested from the Sacchau vineyard, located in the southern hills above Muriettas Well in the Livermore Valley.
This wine starts out opaque plum in the center and brightens to brilliant translucent ruby as it approaches the edge of the glass. The aromas are classic cassis and pomegranate with bright notes of clove and fennel. The wine has a low register of cocoa powder and masculine characteristics of corned beef and tobacco. The flavors are bright with fresh pomegranate juice and whisper of wild flower. There is incredible symmetry between the acid, alcohol and tannin levels as they all fall within the mid-range of the spectrum. The finish is dominated by fruit with just a hint of round oak tannins.
